Show Me - games, fun and activities for kids

Show Me Parents Page - games, fun and activities for kids from UK museums, galleries and science centres:

Show.me.uk is a safe and non-commercial site for kids produced by 24 Hour Museum.

The site is a collection of online games and interactive content produced by the UK's museums and galleries, for children aged 4 to 11.

We have spent a lot of time at this site! Links apparently change regularly, but if you visit now you will find a wonderful "tile designer" activity and a "mask adventure" - both of which our testers enjoyed tremendously. Well worth a visit (or two).

New Farm Animals Theme

Farm Animals from Activity Village

We've started a new "Theme" today, on farm animals. You will find colouring pictures, jigsaws (14 new!), printable games, and lots of links ..... and much more to come soon.

Word Spy

Word Spy

This online game, similar to Boggle, will challenge your children to find words of 3 letters or more within a certain time span, giving them extra points if they use more "difficult" letters. Good for their brain, and good fun too!

Watering Your Young Child's Mind - new article on website

Parenting Articles from Activity Village

Our new jigsaws .... play them with your kids!

We are thrilled to announce a new Jigsaw* section at Activity Village, where you will find a growing selection of jigsaws to download and play with your children. We have jigsaws for all ages, from 6-piece puzzles to enchant the littlest member of your family, to 25-piece puzzles to challenge the oldest.

We have started with jigsaws for St Patrick's Day and Easter, soon to be followed with Farm Animals of all shapes and sizes. We hope you enjoy them!

*Anybody who visited Activity Village is its early days may remember that we used to offer jigsaws - they were in fact one of our most popular downloads and only disappeared because of bandwidth limitations with one of our previous hosting companies.

Care Bears Forever!

Care Bears Forever!

If your children like the Care Bears, you might like to visit this official site. You will find some sweet Care Bear coloring pages, clipart, and bright desktop wallpaper. Unlike many official sites, there is nothing interactive and no games ... so it is not somewhere to visit with the children (especially as there is quite a lot of information on what is for sale!)

Out on a Limb - A Guide to Getting Along

Out on a Limb - A Guide to Getting Along

"Out on a Limb" is an interactive website designed to teach children how to get along with others, and to provide them with strategies for coping with difficult situations. It is aimed at ages 7 and up and takes about 20 minutes to run through. We thought it was excellent (although younger viewers may have difficulty concentrating to the end).

Cod Liver Oil - Do Our Kids Need It?

Times Online - Britain: "CHILDREN should be fed postwar rations of cod-liver oil and orange juice at school to improve their diet and concentration, a government-funded research centre said yesterday. "

There is much interest in nutrition for kids at the moment - with Jamie's School Dinners showing on television and article after article appearing in the press about the links between poor diet and poor performance at school. UK readers who didn't watch the show last week should tune in tonight, but prepare to be shocked by what our kids are eating!
